Perfect Trail And Enduro Race Bike

R 23,000.00
Cape Town, Western Cape
This bike really is a damn masterpiece to ride and I am sorry to let her go but I can't justify two trail bikes at present. Really great bike all-round if you are into a more trail riding scene and this one in particular has even done the odd stage race, so that's an option if you're into getting held up on the descents as well :)
With the popularity and participation in local enduro events in the Western Cape and rest of RSA this would be a perfect machine for a first timer or someone looking for a serious upgrade over a more entry level trail bike or even a hard tail.

So this one is a 2016 medium with a bulletproof RS Monarch RCT3 Debonair to control it’s 140mm travel out back.

Not heard of Banshee? Well 1) Shame on you 2) It’s never heard of you but that won’t put it off.
Adjustable geometry and interchangeable dropouts, meaning 3 settings between a 66 degree head angle and 67 degree head angle at the drop of a spanner.

Without having ridden a Banshee you'd be hard pressed to know just how well the suspension is designed, it really is beautiful.

Why am I selling? Well I was tempted by the fruits of another small US brand and moved across all parts except the fork.

Paired with the frame is a Manitou Mattoc Pro 2 with the IRT (Infinite Rate Tune) upgrade added - 2017 model bought after the frame.
Fork has the odd cosmetic scratch and scuff and is currently set to 160mm, although comes with tokens to reduce travel in 10mm increments.
The IRT add-on which works like tokens would in a RS or Fox, except you have a far higher degree of tunability. It's a great fork and has recently been rebuilt in a service, both damper and lowers.
If you're thinking "this is not Fox or RS", then please go have a look at any review of the Mattoc comparing it to the big boys.
Also there is local support from Iziko sports for parts/etc and servicing the fork oneself is a breeze (happy to teach too).

Also included is a custom wheelset for the bike. DaBomb rims (30mm internal and 35mm external width) on Hope Pro 2 Evo rear hub and Pyga front hub. Decals are easily removed if the green doesn't suit your fancy.

Drivetrain side we have a bombproof Shimano 11 speed SLX M7000 shifter and rear mech paired with a Lyne pulse 170mm crankset and 11-46 cassette.

Shimano's Zee brakes slowing you down on the hills paired with 180mm rotors front and rear, including new brake pads (4 rides old), and full bleed and piston clean.
Currently there is a rigid post, but I would be willing to add my current 150mm dropper (which was on this frame) at an additional R1300 should you so wish.

Shock full service and 1 month riding on it, fork full service and about 1.5 months riding time.
Frame bearings replaced about 6 months ago. BB Is brand new, headset is band new as well.

In terms of extras the following will be included:
Spare hanger, dropout bolts to adjust geometry to your preference, touch-up paint, sticker kit for Mattoc fork, spare summer used rear tyre with plenty life (Aggressor EXO 2.3 with barely used cSixx FOAMO DD), as well as a spare (also used but life remaining) Sunrace 11-46 cassette.

Open to reasonable offers, so please engage with me :)

So after all that you still not too sure about this best bike you haven't really heard of? Well, stop being doff and check out what these reviews have to say….

https://www.pinkbike.com/news/banshee-spitfire-review-2016.html (also here you have the geometry charts if that interests you, and make sure to read the user commentary from similar weekend worriers such as us) - “When it comes time to give in to gravity's pull the Spitfire sheds its relaxed climbing manners like Clark Kent in a phone booth, emerging as a responsive and energetic trail machine”
https://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/mountain-bikes/full-suspension/product/banshee-spitfire-gx-build-review-51333/ - “This cements the Spitfire’s position as one of my favourite versatile hardcore bikes of the year so far”
https://factoryjackson.com/2016/04/11/banshee-spitfire-xo1-bike-test/ - “It has enough travel to provide the grip you need and to absorb a hell of a lot – but it’s not too much bike that robs you of ride experience”
