    This will be a short 20-25km night race starting at the Race Village, a fast loop in and around Clocolan, determining the leaders going into stage 2

    Choose between the Adventure (82km) or the Lite (43km) on the beautiful Sandstone Trail. Taking riders over Sand Stone single tracks edged in the Sandstone Rock from many years of vendors traveling over the mountains in the area.

    Great Scenic views can be expected during the stage, Taking riders right up next to the Caledon river bank, through game farms and over high mountains, under a Sandstone overhang and back to town.

The 3 Mountains Challenge is a multi-stage MTB Cycling event, that will be presented to the cycling community by AfriAdventures in conjunction with the Clocolan cycling community.

 

This exciting event will take place from 21 to 24 March 2019 in and around the beautiful town of Clocolan in the Free State. The event will cater for all levels of expertise by providing different routes and distances to select from. Come and enjoy the Free State like never before. Experience the hospitality of the community, taste the great food, take in the fantastic views and drink the cold beer with a local on the stoep while looking out over the beautiful area.

In 2017 this was the first ever mountain bike race I've done and a stage race at that!

 

Wanted to enter again for the 2018 event, but I couldn't due to new father duties.

 

If all goes as planned, I will definitely enter for the 2019 event!
