Be a rebel and pitch up on your carbon bike.

It's a public road, no entry fees applicable. Nobody can stop you from riding up the hill coincidentally while this thing is going on....just don't let a steel bike beat you :P

Thomo, May 13 2019 02:58

Road closure.?
The area around the start of the hiking trail to Lions Head can be quite chaotic.

You could definitely just arrive on your carbon bike but it wouldn't really make sense racing a bunch of guys on steel. Would probably just disrupt the vibe a bit?

No road closures, whole race only lasts about 20  minutes.

Last one  was rad,  I mean it hurt like hell,  but it was rad!

Just wrap your bike in foil. Not like it hasn't been done before.

Buff_SA, May 13 2019 04:06

Are there weight classes so the fat, old guys stand a chance as well?

Sounds really cool, how many guys pitched at the last event?

Because that would make it too easy!

Or maybe do it downhill next time ... we may stand a chance then. LOL

Nope, no weight classes. But you will find dudes suffering equally as bad to tackle the Glen with. Pull in, its going to be fun!

these okes are KILLING it in the marketing stakes

they have HELL, FIRES and METAL music.

it is awesome.

it is impossible to put an advert together like this with CARBON music. just try, you will fail.

hence METAL bikes only.

i assume carbon forks might be ok. but that's just assuming

I don't own any cool steel bikes.... would it be ok if I arrive on a 10kg aliminium 2013 Scott with a carbon fork (though the steerer is still aluminium)?  I'm sure it's heavier than the titanium bikes...
