Lyne Components launches The Holy Rail on-bike storage system

Lyne Components recently launched a new on-bike storage system called The Holy Rail.

After around 8 months of development, we are finally ready to reveal a product which we feel offers a new angle at solving on-bike storage. We recently had a dealer & media launch showing off this new product at Stoke Suspension in Cape Town.

Introducing The Holy Rail

The Holy Rail- A Closer Look

The Concept

The main idea behind the Holy Rail is to reduce the number of spares carried on the rider’s body and rather mount them to your bike frame. This allows you to ride free of a backpack and saddle-bag.

The Holy Rail is a modular mounting system that enables flexibility of mounting accessories to your bicycle.

Simply attach the rail to your bottle cage mounts on either your down tube or seat tube and get creative with repositioning and mounting accessories and spares to your frame. The rail uses standard M5 x 0.8 bolts meaning existing bottle cage accessories are compatible with the system.

Dropper Post Friendly

We are big fan’s of running dropper posts on our mountain bikes, this led us to investigate alternative on-bike storage solutions. Saddlebags tend to damage dropper posts and backpacks ruin the feeling of freedom provided by having the saddle out of the way.

Dual Water Bottles

The ability to slide and change the bottle position allowed us to fully utilize the precious real estate inside the front triangle of the frame. We then discovered that with some careful positioning we are able to fit a second water bottle in some frames where you wouldn't usually be able to. The dual cage adapter was then born. Giant Anthem owners can thank us later! We will soon start a blog to record compatibility with various frames for reference purposes.

We have developed a range of accessories including an integrated multitool to be used with the Holy Rail. These are all available on our online store. We will be adding more to this range in the next coming months.

The weight is highly competitive with the hardware that would otherwise be fitted elsewhere to your bike. I acquired a Holy Rail bottle cage with tool box. It's a very well made piece of kit. The bottle cage is  good quality with enough springyniss to grip any bottle. My only gripe is they don't do a Left hand bottle cage which would be handy for the seat tube for right handed users but also for lefties like me

Okay - just pulled the trigger on a Holy rail with 2 cages :whistling:

Added a 32 oval ring to qualify for free shipping

Looks like they will only be open again 7 Jan 19

Really hope its fits my Scalpel ...

If I managed to fit it I will place a photo of it on this treat... If not keep an eye on the classifieds ...

DieselnDust, Dec 31 2018 01:09

If your Scalpel is a medium then the best fit option is to mount the rail and cages as low as possible on the down tube so that the upper cage positions the bottle in the corner and the down tube bottle is a little lower down the downtube. There may be space at the top of the Holy Rail for the tool box but I suggest that you mount the toolbox to the seatpost instead using the KCNC seat tube mounting kit

I have the previous generation Scalpel. Size XL.
The other day I rode with a friend who has a new 2019 model SI Scalpel also in size XL. He can fit one large bottle and one small to medium bottle in his triangle. I was quit surprised that two large bottles do not fit in size XL.

With the Holy Rail I will be happy to also fit one large/normal size bottle with a medium to small bottle in the triangle...
