Highlights: Aru takes yellow on brutal climb, Bardet wins the day

Romain Bardet took the honours on Stage 12 of the Tour de France while Fabio Aru claimed the yellow jersey after Chris Froome struggled in the last hundred metres of the summit finish. South African Louis Meintjes put in a big effort to finish 5th, seeing him enter the top 10 in the general classification and close the gap on the white jersey held by Simon Yates.

After what had to be the worst day ever at work. I told myself "at least I can watch some Tour de France when I get home tonight.

Only to see Aru taking yellow.

..They say bad things come in three.

Guess that means my wife will be having a headache when I go upstairs to the bedroom

BTW. I recon Louis can move up at least 4 paces overall by the end of the tour

Highly unlikely, but it would be great. He can take Quintana and Bennet, but not the rest of them. Still does not take away the fact that he will finish in the top 10 in the Tour de France, and with that maybe even winning it with the right team in 2018, 2019.

Go Meintjies!

Louis is an exceptional rider, but until he gets his TT skills on par he won't win the tour.
