Ravemen Lights – See And Be Seen

Header.jpg

Ravemen lighting products are developed by people with a genuine passion for cycling. As cyclists themselves who often ride after dark or before sunrise, Ravemen realised that most high-output bike lights on the market have no anti-glare capability, which is dangerous to oncoming traffic and pedestrians, and can place cyclists at greater risk in some cases. Based on this realisation, and being inspired by automotive headlights, the idea of applying a similar anti-glare design to bike lights was born. Following a complex process of concepts, design, R&D, testing, and making on-going design changes and improvements, the world’s first bike light with anti-glare was launched.

Technologies found in the Ravemen range:

DuaLens Optical design

P2.jpg

Providing broad closed range flood light with anti-glare beam for commuting, no dazzle and glare for oncoming riders and pedestrians. This especially important for riders who commute when it is still dark, and a very bright front light can blind oncoming traffic and pedestrians

Digital Display

This puts vital information at a quick glance by displaying the runtime of each brightness level and other statuses of the light while in use. With this information, you will be able to better manage your usage and settings, to ensure you have sufficient light for your full ride.

HiLo Beam System

Road Biking Mode

Featuring DuaLens optical design, the Road Biking Mode is perfect for road recreational riding or commuting.

Mountain Biking Mode

Featuring HiLo Beam System, the Mountain Biking Mode is specially designed for trail riding or singletrack with reasonable brightness levels yet more lumens and further beam distance.

Instant Turbo

Easily and quickly access the maximum output to signal the oncoming pedestrians or riders ahead or when you are in need of more lumens in a hurry

PR1200 with Wired Remote

PR1200.jpg

Perfect for those on a budget Mountain Bike Rider magazine

The PR1200 front light is a simulation design of automotive headlights with dual-LED configuration with a rectangular flood light and a circular high beam. The DuaLens Optical Design provides a broad closed range flood light with an anti-glare low beam for commuting and no dazzle and glare for oncoming riders and pedestrians.

All things considered, especially the price, the Ravemen PR1200 is a sharp attack at triple-priced lights that are as ordinary as butter on toast. The Subjective Cyclist

PR1200_2.jpg

It has a few aces up its sleeve. For starters, it comes with a USB output to act as a power bank in those all too familiar “my phone has run out of battery” situations. Secondly, it comes standard with a remote which allow you to select a mode without the need to remove your hand from the grips. Perfect for changing conditions.

But despite being made to a tighter budget it still wins on a few important points. The first is beam pattern. They have clearly thought about it – kudos to them for this important step – and have made one lens a diffused beam for close in work and the other for punching up the trail when needed. The result is a very pleasing smooth pool of light transitioning to a spot further out – not perfect, but a damn sight better than even some of the much more expensive units on test. CR900 Front Light with Wired Remote

CR900.JPG

Measuring just 98mm x 30mm x 33mm, with a claimed weight of 115 grams including battery, the CR900 is a lightweight front light that is still solid in construction thanks to its anodized aluminium body.

The Ravemen CR900 is almost the perfect bicycle light. The remaining battery run-time feature is superb and the light body is compact and lightweight. Personally, I love the beam pattern emitted by this light and it would be my go to light for road and gravel cycling (sans heavy duty descending), but only if I could extend the run-time with an external battery Bikerumor!
